How to Make Ribbon Headbands
Make hair ribbons to go with every outfit you have, or that your daughter, niece or granddaughter has. All you need are a few simple craft items, basic sewing skills and some time. The most important element is your ribbon, so look for good quality grosgrain ribbon at the craft store or fabric shop.

Instructions
Things You'll Need
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Anti-fray solution
- Thread
- Needle
- ¼-inch elastic
-
-
1
Measure around your head where you will wear the ribbon headband.
-
2
Cut a piece of ribbon 2 inches shorter than your head measurement.
-
3
Coat the ends of the ribbon with anti-fray solution to keep the ribbon from fraying.
-
4
Attach the elastic to one end of the ribbon, overlapping about 1/2 inch. Sew the elastic to the ribbon. Tie strong knots to ensure it doesn't come lose.
-
5
Test the fit on your head – you want it to be snug but not too tight. Adjust where the ribbon overlaps the elastic on the unattached side accordingly.
-
6
Sew the other end of the elastic to the free end of the ribbon.
