Here's how to make ribbon headbands.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    Tape Measure
    Tape Measure

    Measure around your head, using the tape measure, where you will wear the ribbon head band.

  2. Step 2
    Cut the ribbon
    Cut the ribbon

    Cut a piece of ribbon just two inches shorter than your head measurement.

  3. Step 3

    Coat the ends of the ribbon with anti-fray solution to keep the ribbon from fraying.

  4. Step 4
    Needle and thread
    Needle and thread

    Attach the elastic to one end of the ribbon, overlapping about 1/2 inch. Use the needle and thread to sew the elastic to the ribbon. Tie strong knots to ensure it doesn't come lose.

  5. Step 5

    Test the fit on your head. Make sure it will be snug but not to tight. Adjust the overlapping of the other side accordingly.

  6. Step 6

    Sew the other end of the elastic to the free end of the ribbon.

  7. Step 7

    Try on your new ribbon hair band ~ Voila! Now you can show your friends how to make ribbon hairbands of their own.
