How to Fake a Broken Limb

You may be wondering what use one would have with a fake broken limb. I used it to play an April Fool's gag once on my mother. It made her cry so I confessed. It lasted about 10 minutes. However, if you have a use for this trick, feel free to benefit from my sneakiness.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Cut the toe section off the old white sock. Place it on whichever limb is to be broken. Make sure the fingers or toes are exposed. Make sure it is tight.
Step2
Make the plaster mix according to its instructions. Make plenty of it as you will need the gauze to be extra sticky.
Step3
Dip a piece of gauze in the plaster getting it sticky and drippy. You will wrap this piece of gauze tightly around the sock.
Step4
Wrap the entire sock in the wet gauze, sticking it together. You will need to do many layers to make a convincing cast. Once you have achieved the right thickness, let it dry on your arm or leg.
Step5
Add crutches, bought or borrowed, or a sling. If necessary, you can make a sling by tying your arm up with a large piece of cloth.
Step6
Go find out who is the most gullible person you know and tell them your most outrageous broken bone story. Take pictures and hopefully live to tell about it.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want a colored cast, you can use cloth dyes ahead of time to create your colors. Make sure the gauze is dry before you dip it in the plaster.
