Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 4 white fish fillets
  • 7 T. butter
  • 2 T. flour
  • 1 C. milk
  • Salt, pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. chives
  • 1/4 C. grated cheese
  • Bread crumbs
  • 1 t. paprika

Step1
Melt 3 T. butter in saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour. Pour in milk, stir while coming to a boil.
Step2
Reduce heat, simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add chives and 1/2 the grated cheese, stir over low heat about 1 minute.
Step3
Remove from heat. Rinse fillets and pat dry with paper towel. Place each fillet on top of 1 T. butter in a baking dish.
Step4
Pour the sauce over the fish and sprinkle with bread crumbs, grated cheese and paprika; Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes, cover with foil 1/2 way through.

Tips & Warnings

  • Serve with rice and my "New England Clam Chowder"
