Ever wanted to know how to organise the greatest Stag Weekend, then now you can. Follow my simple steps and you will be onto a winner.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A Stag (not the bambi type)
  • Some friends
  • Best man - it is his job to organise it

Step1
1. Chose your Stag Party carefully
It is important that everyone gets on – the last thing that you want is a full-on brawl on the first night because Dave stole Ben’s girlfriend when they were at school together and Ben still hasn’t forgiven him. Equally if you want it to be a booze fest and the majority of your Stag Party are Tee Total, you might want to make some new friends. It is also quite common that the Stag might wish to bring his Dad or maybe even the father of the bride-to-be, so consider what their relationships are like and whether the father of the bride thinks that lap dancing clubs are seedy and degrading or a good laugh.
Step2
2. Consider your location
Picking your location is the second most important factor to organising a Stag Weekend that you’ll remember, for all the right reasons. If you all live in Bournemouth, which is full of Stag and Hen Parties every weekend, you might want to go somewhere else or perhaps you have never realised what Bournemouth has to offer and this weekend could be the opportunity that you needed to explore all of the vertitable feasts that Bournemouth has to bestow upon you and your Stag Party. Perhaps you are sick to death of Stag Parties filling up your local and you fancy going somewhere that is a little more salubrious for some pampering. Think about what you want to do and which destination best suits you. Going abroad or to somewhere that no one in your Stag Party has been before will instantly add an exciting dimension to your weekend and have everyone fired up from the minute that they step off the plane, train or bus.
Step3
3. Travel together
Half of the fun is travelling together and if you can it is always best to hire a vehicle and get someone who is not in the party to drive. Then you can start your Stag Weekend from the minute that you leave the house. It is also essential that when Mike falls asleep that someone draws or writes on his face.
Step4
4. Organise activities
If you want to spend the whole weekend in the pub that is fine, but you might as well have stayed at home of you are going to do that. If you are having trouble thinking up things to do on your Stag Weekend, why not try these guys http://www.thestagcompany.com and get them to suggest some packages. It doesn’t matter what you budget is, they have ideas and suggestions for all types of groups. Pick a location and then see what activities are on offer. Chose from Paintballing to Go-Karting to dancing your disco slippers off in some top clubs: http://www.thestagcompany.com/?page=packages. It is much easier getting someone else to do this for you than you having to research all possible destinations and activities.

If you are going for a whole weekend, then make sure that you have plenty of things planned. The last thing you want is a group of bored men on your hands.
Step5
5. Getting somewhere decent to stay
Some people don’t mind rat-infested holes, but the vast majority of Stag Weekenders want something nice so make sure you do your research. The Stag Company will organise your accommodation too, so if you don’t want to have to spent time trawling the internet for good deals, get them to do the leg work for you.

You don’t have to spend a fortune and a lot of places will do you deals if there is a big group of you staying – so don’t be afraid to ask. There is also very little difference between a 3 and 4 star hotel, so if the only difference is the price, I would opt for the cheaper of the two.

Make sure that you don’t pick a hotel located miles out of the city or you will end up spending a fortune on transport.
Step6
6. Behave
Respect the place where you are staying and remember that just because you are on holiday doesn’t mean that you should behave like an idiot and get arrested. Obviously if you want to behave like an idiot then by all means go for it, but remember that everything is best man speech fodder. Embarrassing.
