A Falafel sandwich is a middle eastern staple made from deep-fried chickpeas stuffed in a pita with veggies and tahini sauce. The best in New York City might be up for debate, but one of the most respected versions can be grabbed at Mamoun's on MacDougal Street.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Metro card
Step1
Take the F, V, A, C or E to the West 4th station.
Step2
Exit out the 3rd St. exit.
Step3
Cross 6th Ave. onto W 3rd St. You should pass a hand ball court on your left and a McDonald's on your right.
Step4
Continue for a block, then take a right on MacDougal St.
Step5
Mamoun's is a quarter of a block down MacDougal.
Step6
Get in line (there will be one) and have your money and order ready.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are not many places to sit in Mamoun's, so you may have to enjoy your falafel standing up or walking.
