How to Prepare Whiskey Sauce

Whiskey sauce is a delicious concoction that goes extraordinarily well with bread pudding or cake. Whiskey sauce is a cherished part of Southern cooking, especially in Creole circles. It can provide just the right bit of kick to any meal.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 tbsp. of butter
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp. of whiskey, bourbon or brandy
  1. Step 1

    Mix together the butter and the sugar.

  2. Step 2

    Blend in the beaten egg.

  3. Step 3

    Bring the whole mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.

  4. Step 4

    Stir until thickened, and remove from heat.

  5. Step 5

    Add and stir in the whiskey, bourbon or brandy to taste.
