There are times when a lot of us may be faced with the problem of a power outage in the home or failure to plug in the camper after a trip. It has happened to me.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • The things you will need are a good liquid detergent, a pail of water and a scouring pad that won't scratch the plastic or metal surfaces fo the frig. A box of soda and a small bag of charcole.
Step1
First, open the fridge and remove all the spoiled meat, all vegetables and anything else that is contaminated, and dispose of in the proper manner. A surgical mask may be a good investment.
Step2
After cleaning, scouring washing the whole interior, leave the doors open for a few hours or a day to allow the interior to dry.
Step3
After the interior has aired out and dried, open up the baking soda and disperse around in small plates or can lids, some of the soda, and set the remainder of the soda on a shelf in the open box

Tips & Warnings

  • Now take the bag of charcoal, open it up and disperse a layer of charcoal over the entire bottom of the cabinet(cabinets). Close the doors and wait. As time passes the odor will completely disappear and after you have deodorized the house, the cat and the dog, you can resume living with your saved money for a new refrigerator.
