Plan a Cheap Romantic Weekend Getaway
Plan a Cheap Romantic Weekend Getaway

It is almost Valentines Day, and most of us are looking for inexpensive ways to have a romantic getaway. Unfortunately most of us do not have the funds to go on extravagant romantic vacations. We have other responsibilities to worry about and take priority over our romantic ideas. Yet, going on a romantic holiday is important and there are ways to keep the costs down.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    1. Check Online for deals – both for long distance travel and for local excursion. Many hotels have specials, as do many airlines.

  2. Step 2

    2. Travel in the off peak times. Traveling in off seasons will cut your cost almost in half.

  3. Step 3

    3. Take a road trip --- Just get up and go, don’t think about where you’re going. Just enjoy the day out with the one you love. Take a picnic and enjoy a park or go to the beach for the day. Walk the boardwalk and pack a picnic basket with all your favorite things. Enjoy the day -- enjoy each other.

  4. Step 4

    4. Go camping – It is very romantic sitting under the stars with your honey.

  5. Step 5

    5. Check out the local B&B for specials. In the off peak times, some B&Bs have specials.

  6. Step 6

    6. And if you just can’t get away then create a romantic destination at home -- Have a romantic dinner at home. Send the kids for a sleep over at a friend’s house. Call a caterer for a small intimate dinner for two. Setup a small table near a fireplace or window – dress the table and area so that it says romance to you and your partner. For example – if a Tuscan café is romantic to you -- Copy the idea. Bring out the candles, music, and wine. Don’t forget to dress for your partner – so bring out your sexiest dressing.

on 5/13/2008 My wife and I did a spur of the moment overnight trip last year on Valentine's day and it was great! We could have gotten better lodging if we'd called ahead two weeks earlier, however.
