Things You'll Need:
- PhotoShop and Element Software
- Photos
-
Step 1
Open Adobe Photoshop Elements and create a blank canvas. From the "File" menu choose "New" and "Blank File." In the dialog box specify the needed information. Create a name for your showcase that is related to the storytelling of this collage. The size of the canvas is 8.5 by 11.5 inches. The pixels for the resolution are to be 200 pixels per inch. This will create a canvas approximately 1700 by 2200 pixels.
-
Step 2
Determine what picture that you are going to use. The focal point to the story that you are telling should be the first picture and for effect should be the one sticking out in the bottom corner while all the other pictures filter out toward the top of the canvas.
-
Step 3
Add photos. Finding your pictures is easy; just open up a photo browser software. I am using my Windows Photo Gallery that is from Microsoft Window Vista. There I can edit or adjust any colors that I want. Now, it is time to add the first photo. There are two ways that you can grab the photo: either use the rectangular marquee Tool or use the shortcut CTRL-A. Choose the part of the picture you want or the whole picture. Now choose "Edit" and "Paste." The picture is now on your canvas.
-
Step 4
Move the picture to the location you want. Select the Move tool. Move the pointer over the bottom right corner of the picture. Click and drag the corner to resize the photo. Click the check box at the bottom of the photo when it is in the desired location.
-
Step 5
Changing the sizes and the shapes of the pictures can add dramatic visual interest to your showcase. You can change the border color of the pictures.
-
Step 6
That is the first picture and that was easy. So go add the rest of the pictures to tell your story and showcase your work. Printing the showcase out. I recommend that you take it to a professional printing place and have them print the collage out on great quality paper. Your craft deserves the best to show off your talent.
