The home is where the heart is. That saying is usually followed by, the home is your castle. Well, protecting that home is first priority and with some simple spells you can make that come true.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sea salt
  • Candles
  • Incense
  • Earth style cookware

How to Create Protection Spells for Your Home

Step1
The first thing to remember is to use all natural cooking supplies and dishes. The salt that you need to use is table salt or sea salt and there is no need to special water; tap water will do.
Step2
The next thing is to clean your home before blessing it.
Step3
Gather these items, a small dish of salt to represent the earth and prosperity, a stick of sandalwood incense and a holder. The scent will represent the air. You will need a red candle with holder, a small bowl of water and matches.
Step4
Light the candle and the incense. Place the candle in the middle of the room.
Step5
Gather the salt and begin at the east side of the house, moving in a deosil (clockwise) motion as you work your way around the room sprinkling salt in each corner of the room.
Step6
Take the incense and wave until you get a little wave of smoke.

Next you need to sprinkle the water around the perimeter of the room.
Step7
Then settle in front of the candle and read this spell:
Element of all four that I call, release your power as I bless my home in this magickal hour. Let no negativity enter, no spirit will roam, as I consecrate and protect my home.
Step8
As you finish this spell, draw a circle in the air above the candle with the incense. Keep the spiraling going up faster and faster while going higher and higher and close the spell by saying these words:

This home is blessed by my love and will; it is my desire to protect as I close this spell by earth air, water and fire.
Step9
This is a simple spell, but there are other small things that you can do to protect your home also. Some magickal homes have blue doors. The color blue is magickal and peaceful.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some porches have ivy and honeysuckle vines growing on them for protection and prosperity. You will also notice window boxes full of herbs and flowers. But don’t forget to have some red geraniums or red begonias growing in those window boxes. According to midwestern folklore, this is the way to spot the “good witches” and there are many of them.
