Making Moonshine

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • sugar
  • tomato paste
  • winemaker's yeast
  • fermentation bucket
  • submersible aquarium heater
  • propane tank
  • propane burner
  • 20 litre steel pail with cover (food grade)
  • plumbing fittings
  • polyprop tubing
  • plasic pail
  • silicone sealant
  1. Step 1

    In your fermenting pail mix 10 gallons of water with 20 lbs of sugar. Add a large can of tomato paste. Add a packet of winemaker's yeast. Submerge a 150 watt aquarium heater and cover pail with lid. Plug in heater.

  2. Step 2

    Wait until wash is completely fermented (does not taste sweet anymore)

  3. Step 3

    Attach plumbing fittings to lid of steel bucket with silicone.
    Wind tubing inside of plastic pail and exit out a hole in the bottom.
    Seal with silicone.

  4. Step 4

    Fill steel bucket 3/4 full of wash. Secure cover. Attach tubing to plumbing fittings.

  5. Step 5

    Place on burner and start to warm up.
    Fill plastic pail with water and keep cool with running water or ice.

  6. Step 6

    When booze starts coming out of end of tubing discard the first couple of ounces. Collect the rest.

on 5/3/2009 It can be dangerous to drink moonshine. The first cup can be dangerous since it makes methanol. I just saw it on wikiHow.
