Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Lavender Essential Oil Properties:

Known for it's beautiful scent, lavender is a calming, relaxing oil. It helps alleviate feelings of stress and anxiety and induces a sense of calm and relaxation.

Lavender is also a powerful antiseptic and is wonderful to use in healing wounds & burns (including sunburn). It helps with combating cold and flu, is excellent for use with migraines. It also supports female health and has a healing effect on the skin, preventing scarring and balancing the skin. Use it on blemishes or acne prone skin to help clear the complexion.

  2. Step 2

To use for it's aromatherapy qualities distill the scent into the air or apply directly to the hands cover mouth and nose and inhale for several deep breaths.

Works for: stress relief, anxiety, inducing restfulness, cold and flu symptoms and migraines.

  3. Step 3

    To use for burns:

Dilute lavender in a pure vegetable oil or olive oil and apply directly on affected area.

For sunburn mix lavender with rose water or floral water and mist onto skin several times a day. This also works for balancing the complexion of the face.

  4. Step 4

To use on blemishes apply one drop directly to blemished areas and lightly pat until oil is somewhat absorbed into skin. Can also be mixed with a light facial moisturizer and applied daily to boost skins appearance and clarity.

  5. Step 5

Use it to help treat PMS symptoms. Mix lavender with olive or vegetable oil and massage over tender breasts to help alleviate soreness. Can also be applied externally to help treat symptoms of candidiasis (yeast infection).

  6. Step 6

Medical studies have also shown Lavender to be useful in postoperative pain management. Use by inhaling or applying directly to affected area.

Tips & Warnings
  • Lavender is one oil that is alright to apply directly. It does not nessecarily require dilution though if you are not accustomed to using essential oils or have sensitive skin or are using it on sensitive areas it is best to dilute.
