You had to file for banckrupcy because of a nasty divorce or you just found yourself in such financial trouble that your credit suffered. Follow these steps and you will be surprised how your credit score will improve.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Access to the internet
Step1
Visit www.annualcreditreport.com and get your credit report. Get only one report from one of the three providers and agree to see the report for the next 30 days, otherwise you will not be able to have access to your report again. This is completely free.
Step2
Find any negative information and dispute it online. Enter the reasons why the account was late or why it was not paid. Also add a personal statement. Wait 20 days and do it again. Dispute the same accounts again.
Step3
You can get all three reports for free once a year, so now you wait a few months and repeat the steps above for the second report. Wait a few more months and repeat the steps for the third report.
Step4
Pay your accounts on time.

Tips & Warnings

  • The trick about disputing an account twice is that when you dispute an account the companies are supposed to respond, if they do not respond the item has to be removed from your credit report. By disputing the same accounts twice the companies often think that they already responded and do not respond the second time causing in the item to be removed from your repport.
  • This worked for me. Do this at your own risk.
