Think of all of the interesting people you could meet by forming an online writing group. There are a number of different websites to assist you informing your own online writing group. Creating new writing colleagues, while expanding your writing experience.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You need to come up with a name for your online writing group. As you begin this process always keep in the forefront of your mind a few questions. What will the name say about the group when perspective members see the name?

  2. Step 2

Now you need to find the website that fits the target group you want. Here are a couple sites I found while on my favorite search engine, Yahoo and Writing.

  3. Step 3

The great thing about Yahoo is the fact that it is free to all. If you are already a member of Yahoo in another group, starting a group yourself is very easy.

  4. Step 4

Login to Yahoo. Go to the page that lists all of your groups. Look to the upper right hand corner, and there are the words "start a group." Move your arrow over to that and click on it.

  5. Step 5

The screen will come up with select a category for your group. Writing groups are under "Entertainment & Arts." Another page will come up with more detailed categories listed. It is under "Humanities," so click on it.

  6. Step 6

Start reading all of the prompts for each scene. Select where you want to put your group in the list below the instructions. The next page that will come up will ask you if you want to put your group here. Click on the box "Place my group here."

  7. Step 7

Now it's time to start describing your group page. It's also time to type in the group's name.

  8. Step 8

Continue to follow the prompts until you are told your group is formed. Write an opening message to all perspective members, and sit back and prepare to meet all of the interesting people that will become your writing friends.

Tips & Warnings
  • If starting your own online writing group is not your style, think about getting involved in one, and watch how you grow in your writing.
