Do you hate the long knit scarves that never seem to hang right or come loose and get lost? I came up with this idea to keep your neck warm without the bulk and risk of losing your knit scarf.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 ball- Lion Brand Moonlight Mohair yarn
  • 1 pair knitting needles size 11
  • yarn needle
  • patience
  1. Step 1

    Gather yarn and needles.

  2. Step 2

    Cast on 18 stitches.

  3. Step 3

Row 1: Knit across, turn needles

  4. Step 4

Row 2: Knit across, turn needles. This establishes the garter stitch pattern. It is the easiest of all knit patterns; you just repeat the same thing over and over and over...

  5. Step 5

Repeat these rows until you have a 2-3 foot piece of yarn left.

  6. Step 6

Bind off until you have one lonely stitch left. Take the tail of yarn pull it through the stitch, and you are done knitting. Leave the yarn tail on.

  7. Step 7

Take the scarf and wrap it around your neck. Holding the ends closed [they will be overlapped] slip it back over your head and sew the end together with the yarn tail after having thread it through a large eyed yarn needle.
End sewing and weave the end of the yarn through the seam you just made.

  8. Step 8

Your scarf is now finished and will stay wrapped around your neck to keep you nice and warm.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you need instructions for casting on or binding off the stitches you can find them on the web.
  • You may find you have so many requests to have you make one for your friends and family you will wish you never told them you made it!
