If you're spending the day at Downtown Disney, there are almost 20 dining destinations to choose from. Downtown Disney offers an assortment of themed restaurants and food carts with delicious offerings, but if you're trying to watch your weight and eat healthy, there are only a few places to choose from. Here's how to eat healthy at Downtown Disney in Orlando.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Map of Downtown Disney
  • Snacks for the day

Step1
Enjoy The Caprese sandwich at The Earl of Sandwich. This gourmet sandwich restaurant features over a dozen different types of sandwiches, but this one doesn't contain high-fat ingredients. It's made with fresh mozzarella, roma tomatoes, and fresh basil with a balsamic vinaigrette.
Step2
Enjoy the Spicy Chicken Penne pasta dish at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. It's a simple mix of penne pasta, chili flakes, spinach and sundried tomatoes.
Step3
Order the Penne, Chicken and Brocolli entree at Planet Hollywood. This entree is one of the healthier entrees on the menu, and features grilled chicken, fresh brocolli and penne pasta; order yours with marinara sauce instead of the creamy garlic sauce to make it extra-healthy.
Step4
Order the Seared Tuna entree at Fulton's Crab House. You'll dig into a pan-seared tuna filet covered in a thyme crust and served with a seaweed salad.
Step5
Enjoy the Meatless Burger at the Rainforest Cafe. It's a healthy mix of brown rice and vegetables, topped with tomatoes, onions, and fresh spinach. It's served with a spicy Safari sauce, and you can order the Paradise House Salad on the side.
Step6
Order the Grilled Chicken Breast sandwich at Food Quest in DisneyQuest. It's a simple grilled chicken sandwich topped with lettuce, tomato, and onion; order it without mayo to keep it healthy.
Step7
Enjoy the Grilled Marinated Portobello Mushroom Sandwich at Cap'n Jack's Restaurant. It's served on multigrain bread with a side of Napa cabbage slaw to make a complete meal.

Tips & Warnings

  • Eat a healthy breakfast early in the day to stave off hunger.
  • Pack a few snacks to keep up your energy between meals.
  • Skip calorie-laden dressings and sandwich fillings by requesting dressing and sauces on the side.
  • Many salads are made with mayonnaise-based dressing; be sure to ask ahead for an ingredients list.
