We all want to wear the latest trendy clothes, but let's be honest--they can be very expensive. By putting some thought into where to shop, what you are going to shop for and how much you will spend on each item, you can have trendy without being too spendy. Here are a few ideas to afford having some trendy clothes in your closet.

1. Shop the sales rack in your favorite stores like Hollister, Gap and all those trendy Boutiques in the mall.

2. Browse through your favorite fashion magazines. Cut out and file trendy styles you hope to find on sale or create yourself.

3. Sew your own clothes. By sewing one can shop the bargain rack for marked down fabric. This way, you mimic styles and fabric from the trendy styles you notice in stores.

4. Shopping online is a good way to get trendy clothes at a great price. There are a few web sites such as Overstock, Free People, Smart Bargains and Old Navy.

5. Consignment shops such as Plato's Closet or even Goodwill can be a treasure trove for trendy clothes. Look in the phone book to find consignment and resale shops in your area.
