Indoor cats have a tendency to get bored just sitting around the house. And who can blame them! everyone knows that when a pet or even a child gets bored that's when they start to get into trouble. If you follow my easy to do list you'll have a happier and nicer kitty in no time at all.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • brown paper bag
  • catnip
  • cat condo
  • small box
  • balls and various other cat toys
  1. Step 1

Use a brown paper bag: There's nothing more satisfying to a cat than the sound a paper bag makes when they crash into it. Put a little ball inside the bag and kitty' s in heaven.

Make a cat condo: If you're really creative you can make an awesome cat condo for next to nothing. Or you can just save time and purchase one. My cat loves her condo, she sharpens her claws on it numerous times a day. Not to mention all the time that she plays on and in it.

Use catnip: Most cat's love catnip, they love to sniff it, eat it, and roll around in it. And generally act pretty silly.

Play with your cat: A little fish on a string that you can tie to a doorknob will keep kitty busy for hours.

  5. Step 5

Use a small box: Cats love to hide and sleep in small places, put out a small box and watch how excited kitty gets. You can even cut a small hole in the back of the box for playing peek-a-boo

  6. Step 6

Spend time with your cat : A little of your time can make the difference between having a happy healthy pet or bored fat one that just lays around all day. Not only will your pet benefit from spending more time with you but you will also reap the rewards. People who own a pet are generally more healthy and happier.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that your cat toys don't contain small parts that kitty could swallow.
  • Never leave your cat alone with a string that he might swallow, and require an expensive trip to your vet.

on 4/7/2008 That's cool - also good to leave a 'Treasure Hunt' of treats around the house for them to hunt out and explore. Just don't hide any treats behind that valuable vase!
