Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Make sure that all papers have their own home. It may be a file in a drawer or it may be a basket on your desk for quick referencing.
Step2
Toss the stuff that is not needed right away. Throwing out unneeded paper can be a great feeling and will get rid of clutter around your office.
Step3
Keep a specific place for all bills. As soon as you have paid the bill, file the paperwork that is left. By taking this simple step, you will be able to find all the needed paperwork at crucial times, such as income tax time.
Step4
Use a desk that has plenty of drawers and compartments for organizing. If you need more drawers for files, consider getting a plastic file cabinet with wheels. With a portable file cabinet, you can roll it under your desk or into a closet to give you more floor space.
Step5
Store as much as possible on your computer. Making your computer work for you in this way will minimize the paper that needs to be filed and stored and maximize your small office space.
