A fantasy league isn't something that you can join, draft some players and hope you win. It involves research, keeping up to date with players and statistics and understanding rules and scoring. Here are a few quick tips if it's your first time in a league.

  1. Step 1

    When you join a league, you have to watch every game, read about every injury and know all the rules. Rules should be available to you when you sign up for the league. Realize that if a player is injured, you obviously do not want to play him the following week or game.

  2. Step 2

    Understand scoring. Roto is entire team's stats where a points league is figured out by individual player.

  3. Step 3

    Know what the deadlines are for trades. You don't want to end up having a injured player in your line-up because you missed the deadlines.

Tips & Warnings
  • It may sound simple but read all the rules before hand.
  • Keep updated on players, teams, projections and who has a girlfriend (as in the case of Tony Romo).
