Perhaps you have decided that your “Recycle Bin” holds onto too many deleted items. Or maybe you’ve had a problem because it isn’t large enough. Whatever the reason, you would like to change the size of your “Recycle Bin.” It can be done in just a few simple steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Microsoft Office

Step1
On your desktop, right click the “Recycle Bin.”
Step2
Click “Properties.”
Step3
Make sure you are on the “Global” tab.
Step4
Use the slider to increase or decrease the amount of disk space for deleted items.
Step5
Click “Apply” and then “OK.”

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use different “Recycle Bin” settings for different drives by clicking “Configure Drives Independently” and then clicking the corresponding drive tab.
  • If your "Recycle Bin’s" storage capacity isn’t large enough for an item you delete, that item will be permanently deleted.
