How to Connect With the Gay and Lesbian Community in Denver

Denver is a great place to live, whether you're gay,lesbian, bisexual, transgender or straight. If you are GLBT, you'll find plenty to do in Colorado's capitol.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Know that Denver is so gay that its main city website has a page just for GLBT events and resources.

  2. Step 2

    Locate the center. The GLBT Center offers event ranging from Gay and Gray gatherings to a Queer Prom to a Gaybutante fundraiser to wine tastings.

  3. Step 3

    Discover your political passion. Denver has an active Human Rights Campaign Chapter with an annual gala in April.

  4. Step 4

    Join GLBT Denver at PrideFest, held in mid to late June. Be part of the Pride Parade or volunteer to help with entertainment or traffic control.

  5. Step 5

    Cruise the bars, including tHERe Coffee Bar and Lounge and Boyz Town Denver. There are a dozen more so you’ll be busy for several weeks.

  6. Step 6

    Explore the arts and the literary world through Denver's Gay Men's Chorus and the Word Is Out lesbian bookstore.

Tips & Warnings
  • While you’re there, you’ll want to be sure and enjoy some of the great hiking, skiing and snowboarding in the area. You’ll be sure to meet other GLBT people on the slopes.
