A sticky label is made to stick on virtually any surface. They are extremely versatile and can be applied anywhere, with some types even having water resistant properties. They are commonly found at arts and crafts stores or department stores and they are easy to use. Removing them is not as easy as sticking them on, but a unique removal method, with an appliance that virtually everyone has, will allow virtually anyone to remove a sticky label.   • Hairdryer
  • Petroleum based cleaner
  • Rag

Instructions

      Place the item that you want to remove the label from down on a flat surface.

      Place the label side up so it is easily accessible.

    • 3

      Turn a hair dryer onto the "medium" setting and blow the hot air onto the label. As the label heats up, the adhesive will slightly liquefy.

      Peel label off with a fingernail.

    • 5

      Remove any excess adhesive by dabbing on a petroleum based cleaner with a rag.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't leave the hairdryer over the label for more then a few seconds.

    For sticky labels on glass from picture frames, this is FOOLPROOF! Warm the label on the "under" side of the glass with a hair dryer set on low. While you're doing this, slowly peel the label off from the "top" side of the glass. It will come up with little, if any residue left! I found it easiest to sit down, clamp the hair dryer face up between my knees and place the glass over the warm air from the dryer. Good luck!
