Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Dog stuff-
- basket
- food and food bowls
- toys
- treats
- newspaper and puppy pads
- other dog stuff ready
Step1
Set up a quiet, warm place in the house with no draughts to place the dog bed. Underneath add a layer of newspaper. Lay some puppy pads around it just in case the new puppy needs to do it's business in the middle of the night.
Step2
Store away additional puppy care stuff in a cupboard in the kitchen or somewhere out of reach.
Set out a food bowl and water bowl near the basket for the first few nights.
Step3
Place a few toys around it but remember to save one for the car journey.
Step4
Puppy proof the house- block up any dangerous holes in the walls, if possible add childgates to any stairs, cables should be safely hidden, ect.
Step5
Now you are ready. When you collect your puppy, bring him/her home in a box with air holes and a supply of water. For the first few nights, be prepared to be waking up every few hours. Remember- they grow up so fast.
