Things You'll Need:
- Reference pages for various playground equipment, below in the resources section
- Plastic tubing, peat moss, sphagnum moss, Spanish moss
- Sheets of thick cardboard
- Paint
- Leftover plastic from model kits
- Children's building toys such as Tinker Toys and Lincoln logs
- Thread spools

Step 1
Look at playgrounds near you. What do you like? What do you not like? Check your collected supplies to see what pieces of playground equipment each resembles most.

Step 2
Use a length of flexible vacuum cleaner hose for a climbing tube. Spray paint it any color you like. Use leftover plastic from model kits to make swing sets and monkey bars.

Step 3
Make a tire swing...Do you have a bunch of tires from various broken toy cars? Use them to make tire swings, sand boxes, and geodesic jungle gyms.

Step 4
Make merry go rounds from Tinker Toys. Make log cabin style playsets from Lincoln Logs.

Paint everything to match.
