Step1
Search your favorite bands, teams, events or venues on Ticketmaster.com. You can sign-up to get email notifications when that particular band, team or event you are interested in goes on tour, ensuring that you are up-to-speed on when to log-in for tickets.
Step2
When you locate a particular venue that has an event you would like to attend, Ticketmaster will give you a date and time of exactly when these tickets are available to the general public.
Signing up for outside fan clubs can give you pre-sale perks and give you access to tickets earlier then the rest of the public, and varies for different bands and sports teams.
You can get a text message reminder sent to your phone at the date and time that the tickets go on sale for the venue you are interested in, to remind you to get to your computer and log-in.
Step3
When purchasing tickets, indicate which section or price range you’d like to search in. Searching “Best Available” will give you the best results, and it will search all price ranges and sections.
Do not hit refresh while the page is searching as you will lose your spot in line. You’ll see a notification message to this effect. It might seem that it’s taking the page a long time to complete the search, which is most likely due to the amount of traffic on the site at the time searching the same event. Be patient, as hitting refresh will knock you to the back of the queue.
Step4
Once seats are displayed, check out the seating chart and decide if you want to take the given seats. You have two minutes to decide what you’d like to do. Otherwise the tickets get thrown back into the mix and you’ll have to start your search again. If you decide you don’t like the seats given, choose the "Search Again" option and a different set of seats will be presented to you.
Step5
When you move on to the payment option, type in your credit card information carefully and correctly. You have limited time to pay for your order before you lose your tickets, but make sure all of your information is correct. If you already have a Ticketmaster account set up, you can save your credit card information for quicker payment next time around.
Step6
You can choose to have your tickets mailed to you via Standard Mail for no extra charge, or you can choose from the other, faster delivery options. You can also choose for the tickets to be emailed to you to print them out at your leisure. This is often the best option if the event is less than a week or two away, and you fear that the tickets will not arrive in the mail in time.
Step7
As your event nears, Ticketmaster will send you a reminder email that your event is coming up.
