As more and more is known about how our actions affect the environment, more and more people are looking at ways to reduce their harmful behaviours. One way is to stop using those nasty chemical cleaners and start using milder natural ones. Here is a way to get started without having to spend a lot.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Vinegar removes mildew, grease and wax; deodorizes; cleans windows, brick and stone. It can be used as a metal cleaner and polish: for stainless steel, wipe with undiluted white vinegar; for tarnished copper, boil the item in a pot of water with one tablespoon salt and one cup white vinegar. For an all-purpose cleaner: add vinegar to water in a spray bottle.

  2. Step 2

Lemon can be used to: deodorize, clean glass and remove stains. For an air freshener: dissolve baking soda in two cups hot water, add lemon juice, pour into spray bottle and use like any other air freshener; for glass cleaner: pour 1/2 cup lemon juice and two cups water in a spray bottle.

  3. Step 3

Baking soda can be used as: an all-purpose cleaner: place four tablespoons of baking soda into a spray bottle and add warm water, shake well; as a drain cleaner: pour 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain, add 1/2 cup of white vinegar, cover the drain. Wait 15 minutes and then pour hot water down it.
