How to Start Practicing Wicca
Wicca, a 'new' religion that many people are finding correspond with their beliefs and are starting to look into. I say 'new' because most people don't realize just how long Wicca has been around. It is an ancient, time-honoured system of values that are based on the Gods and Goddess of the craft. Wicca stems from the word 'Witch' and has been misinterpreted for most of its time.

In order to start practicing Wicca, you need to know the basics. Wicca centers on ritual and spiritual contact with the God and Goddess (yes both, Wiccans believe in the duality of the deity). We believe that everything has a special purpose on this earth and that the Gods and Goddess live not only within ourselves but within nature as well.

One of the most important facets of Wicca is its 'motto', for lack of a better word, which is: 'Do as you wish as long as you harm none'. None includes thyself and nature, as nature is at the core of Wicca. We believe in the divine energy within nature and it plays an important role in our belief system.

Music, magick and dance all form a part of Wiccan ritual. As in praying, magick is used to make contact with the God and Goddess. It is not something dark or sinister; it is simply the flow of energy between the mortal and the divine; it is natural and is used in rituals, rites and movement of energies.

Tips & Warnings
While this is just a brief overview, a more detailed description of Wicca, that also includes rituals for the sole worshipper, is Scott Cunningham's, Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner. This is an excellent book to get you started on learning and practicing Wicca.
You can also find a plethora of information on the Internet but, because it's hard to narrow it down to what is correct and what isn't, I would suggest using the book above to start.

Thank you for providing a valid source. You are definitely right about confusion and how some take advantage of others' ignorance. It kept me away for some time, because I didn't know who to trust.
