    Instructions

Dress professionally. An interviewer first will judge you on the way you look and what you wear. A dark suit with a belt, tie and long-sleeve shirt is appropriate attire for a man, while a suit skirt with a blouse is suitable for a woman. Avoid wearing too much makeup, jewelry, perfume or cologne. Piercings and tattoos must be covered.

Arrive to the interview on time. If you are even a few minutes late, the interviewer will think that you do not take the interview seriously. To avoid arriving late, look up directions beforehand and leave your house early.

      • 3

Begin the interview with a smile and a firm handshake. Tell the interviewer that you are glad to meet her and are excited to begin the interview.

      • 4

Look the interviewer in the eye. When you maintain eye contact with someone, you appear confident. If you look down at the floor or to the side, the interviewer will think you are unsure of yourself.

      • 5

Ask questions. For example, you can inquire about what the training program consists of and what the company expects of its employees. By asking the interviewer questions about the company, you show her that you are enthusiastic about working there.

      • 6

Show how you are fit for the position. Talk about an achievement that relates to the position you are interviewing for. Be honest about your achievements, and never embellish your talents.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Send the interviewer a thank you email after you finish the interview.

    • Do not mumble or use slang words during the interview.

    • Turn your cellphone off before the interview.
