After moving into a new place, you can help it feel more like "yours" by cleansing it. Cleansing will remove all of the energy left by the previous owners and/or any negative energy. It's quite easy and you will notice a difference once you've done it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White Sage
  • Bowl
  • Matches/Lighter
  1. Step 1

Put some white sage into a bowl and light it on fire.

  2. Step 2

Blow out the fire so that all you have is smoke coming from the sage.

  3. Step 3

Cup your hands together, like you would to catch water coming from a tap, and gather the smoke.

  4. Step 4

Go to every door and window in your home and "wash" them with the smoke by directing the smoke onto the window or door. Make sure to cover all of the windows and doors. While doing this repeat a statement asking that all negative energy be removed. For example: "I use this sage to release any negative energy in this room/house/place."

  5. Step 5

Continue with this until you feel that all the negative energy has left.

Tips & Warnings
  • The smoke from the sage might go out during this process so be prepared to re-light it until you're finished with your cleansing ritual.
  • You'll probably want to go around with an air freshener afterwards as white sage leaves a pretty distinct smell!
