Tired of american style coffee, but don't want to pay the high cost of a home espresso machine? Fed up with four dollar coffee that's getting to the price of cigarettes these days? Well, here is the economical answer to home brewed, fresh, as strong or mild as you like you choose coffee that you can buy the pot with a grinder for half or less then the price of an espresso machine. French press saves the healthy oils, antioxidants, and most importantly flavorful aromas that strike a deep warm feeling into those who enjoy the coffee bean.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • French Press Coffee Device
  • Coarsely Ground Coffee Beans
  • Very Hot Water (Just under boiling)
Step1
Select your favorite coffee Bean, and style of roast. Be certain it is coarsely ground, otherwise it will pass through the filter. Choose your desired type of water, and then remove metal press strainer from the carafe.
Step2
Place your desired quantity and strength of coffee in the bottom of the pot, and set aside for a few moments.
Step3
Bring water to a near boil (bubbles under the surface, but not breaking the surface 190-200 degrees), and then pour over coffee inside of carafe. When the water is in, place the press filter top into the carafe without pressing into the coffee mixture.
Step4
Allow to steep for 2 minutes on the average. After steeping, press filter into the mixture to strain out into the bottom the spent coffee grinds.
Step5
After steeping, press filter into the mixture to strain out into the bottom the spent coffee grinds. Pour coffee, and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Coffee strength is a highly subjective matter, so the average amount of coffee per cup of water must be determined individually.
  • If there were to be an average for french press coffee, it would be a large rounded tablespoon per eight ounces of water
  • French press, and espresso style coffee preserves ALL of the antioxidant power that filtered coffee does not.
  • Coarse grind must be used to prevent grinds from passing through the filter
  • Do not use boiling water as it will damage the antioxidants in the coffee.
