Changing the bulb in a Cadillac SRX is a very complicated procedure that should only be done by a Cadillac dealership. This is especially true because the repair is covered under the vehicles warranty, unless some sort of damage has been done to the vehicle.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The changing of a indicator bulb is intentionally made difficult by the designers of the car, according to Cadillac afficianados. The assembly and the bulb are expensive, so stealing this part (and changing it yourself) is nearly impossible. You may VOID YOUR WARRANTY by doing this job yourself.

  2. Step 2

Make sure the light bulb you will be changing is OFF. The car should be off as well. Consider disconnecting the battery to prevent electrocution.

  3. Step 3

If you still want to proceed, even though this is a warranty-covered repair, you begin by removing the "fascia" which is the covering over the entire bumper assembly. Do not force the part off once you've unscrewed it, double check to make sure you've loosened all the screws and mountings then gently remove.

  4. Step 4

Once you remove the bumper assembly, you should be able to visualize the light assembly. Reach in and unscrew the bulb.

  5. Step 5

Put the new bulb in. At this time you may want to turn on the light to make sure the new bulb is functioning.

  6. Step 6

Reapply the fascia to the bumper and screw into place.
