Valentine’s Day is a long-time tradition in the United States. School students use Valentine’s Day as time to celebrate friendships and maybe even “crushes” among classmates. Giving a distinctive Valentine is half the fun. Why not use school supplies to create a wonderful Valentine for the class?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scrapbook supplies (patterned paper, cardstock, embellishments, ribbon, fibers)
  • Pencils
  • Notepads
  • Crayon boxes
  • Adhesive
  • Paper Trimmer
  1. Step 1

Select your Valentine gift or gifts (pencil, notepad, crayons).

  2. Step 2

Cut out tags for your pencils and embellish them a necessary. Stamp Valentine sayings on the front of the tag and include a name on the back. Cut the tag base out of cardstock and cover it with patterned paper or a stamped design. Then, punch a hole in the top of the tag and attach it to your pencil with fancy fibers or ribbon.

  3. Step 3

If you are giving out notebooks, then you should cut your scrapbook paper exactly the size of the notebook cover. Once you have your paper trimmed, you are ready to glue it over the cover (front and back). Embellish the notebook with die cut of stamped images or sayings. You can also use brads, eyelets and other embellishments as needed.

  4. Step 4

Crayon boxes can be covered completely or partially. Cut your scrapbook paper accordingly and then you are ready to decorate. Embellish your boxes with hearts and other accessories as desired.

  5. Step 5

If you are using more than one item, place them in a bag or tie them together with a small valentine card or tag.

Tips & Warnings
  • When covering your school supply items, be sure to use strong adhesive so the paper covering stays securely attached to the item.
  • Use fun sayings like “You color my world” or “You’re the write one” on your Valentine gifts.
