This finger food comes in great during holidays and special events such as the Superbowl. Mini Biscuit Dogs, basically mini hot dogs wrapped in biscuit dough, are served in my house every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and for the Superbowl.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 (14 oz.) package of cocktail franks
  • 1 tube (16.30 oz) of Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
  • honey mustard
  1. Step 1

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Tear off a small piece of biscuit dough and wrap it around each cocktail frank making sure to pinch the ends of the dough so that each mini hot dog is wrapped in dough. The ends of each hot dog will stick out.

  2. Step 2

Place each cocktail frank on the cookie sheet lining the franks up.

  3. Step 3

Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until the biscuit dough starts to get golden brown.

  4. Step 4

Place the mini wrapped franks on a round platter in a circular pattern. In the center of the franks, place a small dip dish and fill with honey mustard. Serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can substitute biscuit dough that has cheese in it for extra flavor.
  • Tear off as much dough as you desire, if you want the entire hot dog wrapped tear off a large amount of dough.
  • Make sure to pinch the ends of the dough tightly, I have found sometimes if it is not pinched enough that the biscuit may separate from the hot dog while baking and open up leaving an unwrapped mini frank.
  • Crescent dough does not seem to work very well as it puffs more than biscuit dough.

on 3/22/2008 I was visualizing small dog-shaped biscuits. Perhaps I have read too many articles already. This sounds good though.
