How to Entertain Your Active Toddler During the Winter

We all know that when the winter weather rolls around, those active toddlers are forced to stay indoors more often. It's hard to keep them busy with activities all day long, so I have compiled a list of fun and easy ways to entertain your little ones during these long and cold months.

1. Make homemade playdough. This playdough is usually much easier for toddlers to handle and they will enjoy helping you mix the ingredients together.
2. Bake together. Toddlers are great at pouring and mixing the ingredients together. You can even have them pick someone to give the desert to as a gift.
3. Clean the house. Yes, I did say clean! Give him a wet rag to wipe down counters and wash the walls. They can even sweep and vacuum the floors. Even though the job will be far from perfect they love helping you and knowing that they can complete a task on their own.
4. Create an obstacle course. You can use boxes, pillows, blankets, toys, hula hoops, or anything lying around the house to create one. Incorporate stairs if you have them, it will help tire them faster. Set the timer and see how many times they can complete the course before it goes off.
5. Make postcards or letters. Many young children seem fascinated with this entire process. Have them make special pictures for friends and family, prepare the envelope, then walk it out to the mailbox.
6. Make a fort. Grab a large blanket and drape it over a table. Put some books, toys, and a flashlight in there and they will love it.
