Acne can affect more than our looks. Many teens and adults find that acne lowers their confidence and self esteem, therefore affecting their social interactions. The stress of acne can make anyone feel depressed and hopeless. However, there are many helpful suggestions that anyone can incorporate into their daily life. With a little bit of patience, you will see wonderful results not only in your skin, but also in your self esteem.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Face Wash
  • Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5)
  • Sun Screen
  • Running Shoes
  • Zinc (Vitamin)
  • Flaxseed oil
  • Lemon
  • Asprin

Step1
Every morning, wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Choose one that is Non-Comedogenic and Fragrance free. Cetaphil makes a great gentle skin cleanser that is great for all skin types. This one is great because it softens the skin as it cleans. Wash your face only once in the morning and once before bed, over washing can dry out the skin.
Step2
Eat a healthy breakfast. A fruit plate, Oatmeal or yogurt are all great choices. It is important to clean the body inside out and a healthy breakfast is a great start. Donuts and coffee for breakfast are not only unhealthy, but the sugars can worsen acne breakouts.
Step3
Take Zinc as a dietary supplement. Zinc not only helps maintain a healthy immune system but it also helps maintain healthy skin. Remember to take your Zinc supplement only after eating a meal, if not, you run the risk of irritating your stomach.
Step4
Take Flaxseed oil. A table spoon of flaxseed oil has many benefits. One of the benefits is that it helps with inflamation and therefore reduces acne breakouts. Consult your doctor to see if flaxseed oil is right for you.
Step5
Exercise. Not only will you lose those extra holiday pounds and get a healthier body but, working out helps with circulation of the blood. Exercising can work wonders for your skin. Remember to wash your face with a gentle skin cleanser after sweating as sweating can aggrevate skin breakouts.
Step6
Make an asprin and Lemon Mask. About Once or Twice a week crush 3 asprin tablets and mix it with lemon juice. Mix it well and apply it to the face for about 10 to 15 minutes. The asprin works great to help with any inflammation of the skin and the lemon works wonders to clean out any old acne scars or discolorations. If you find the lemon to strong, you can also substitute with organic honey.
Step7
Apply benzoyl peroxide. Try to apply benzoyl peroxide once in the morning and once before going to bed (after washing your face). If you find that benzoyl peroxide dries out your skin, only use once at night. Also, remember that benzoyl peroxide can make your skin sensitive to the sun, so remember to also apply a non comedogenic sun block. Neutrogena makes a great sunblock that is for acne prone skin.
Step8
Sleep well. Get as much rest as you can. Many skin breakouts are caused by stress and sleep deprivation can add to both stress and acne breakouts. Get atleast 7 to 8 hours of sleep and you might find that you will wake up to more beautiful skin.

Tips & Warnings

  • wash pillow cases. Bacteria may remain in your pillow cases and this can aggrevate acne breakouts. Wash pillow cases every 2 weeks minimum.
  • Substitute green tea for coffee. Coffee dries out the skin and green tea is a great substitute as it has many health benefits.
  • If Acne is more severe, talk to your doctor about medication, if you are a woman, you might benefit from birth control pills such as Yaz or Ortho tri Cyclen.
  • Be Patient. It takes atleast 2 Weeks to see Results. Dont give up and follow the advice as best as possible.
