How to Enjoy the Delaware Valley

The Delaware Valley includes the suburban areas surrounding Philadelphia, particularly Chester and Delaware Counties. This is a richly historical area with an abundance of things to do and see.

1. One of the most pleasant places to explore in the Delaware Valley is Valley Forge Historical Park. It’s an enormous expanse of land where joggers, dog walkers and picnickers enjoy sunny afternoons. There are also various programs offered, including films and tours relating to the area’s history.
2. The Southern area of Chester County is called the Brandywine Valley. This is where the Battle of Brandywine was fought and has a wealth of charming things to see including old estates, antique shops and numerous historical museums.
3. Longwood Gardens is a must-see for Delaware Valley visitors. Located in Kennett Square, this 1,500-acre horticultural paradise boasts some of the most gorgeous flowers in the world.
4. Are you a mall rat? The King of Prussia Mall is one of the country’s largest shopping experiences. This is a massive and attractive place to shop where you will find absolutely everything, from high-end purchases to bargains.
5. At the northern end of the Delaware Valley is Bucks County, a quaint place with many artistic hamlets. One of the most fascinating places to see in Bucks County is the town of New Hope. This incredibly unique village boasts artsy shops, cafes and gorgeous views of the Delaware River.
