Step 1
Use them up close. Pistols are very inaccurate and so work best at close ranges. This is particularly true of the hand cannons like the Desert Eagle and the 1911. The closer you use them, the easier it will be to hit something.
-
Step 2
Use steady, single shots. Yes, pistols can fire very rapidly, but your crosshairs will climb to the sky very quickly if you do this, and chances are high that about half your shots will miss your intended target. Take it slow and steady, and you’ll find a lot more of your shots hitting home.
-
Step 3
Keep an eye open for a replacement. Enemies carrying pistols are few and far between. If you like using pistols, try rushing an opponent while they’re in the middle of reloading. If you’re lucky, they’ll draw a pistol, which you can then pry from their cold, dead hands.
-
Step 4
Watch your ammo. Again, finding replacement ammunition for your pistol may be tricky. If you prefer carrying a pistol over an SMG, shotgun or second rifle, be judicious with what ammo you have. You probably won’t find very much, if any, replacement ammunition.
-
Step 5
Use a pistol for the Cargo Ship Run in the "F.N.G." mission. While this makes the run more difficult at first, it gives you a much higher accuracy bonus than the MP5, thus giving you the ability to get much better times on the cargo ship run and potentially get you the Achievement for running it in less than 20 seconds.
-
Step 6
Have a pistol duel! Using nothing but pistols in multiplayer matches makes for a great challenge. Try using the Hardcore Mode setting to make things even more interesting.

on 5/3/2009 USP .45 is accurate even firing extremely quickly. And on hardcore I pick off people from really far away. But overall good article
