How to replace a bike brake cable

Millions of people own bicycles. very few know how to maintain them i am going to teach you how to do some general mantainence replacing the brake cable.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

• Bicycle
• Replacement brake cable
• teflon lubericant
• pliers
• wrench
• housing

1. if cable is universal cut off end that will not be needed.
   place it in the lever and clip it in install barrel adjuster.
2. drop a little lube on the cable and slide on housing clip it emplace with adjuster barrel.
3. attach the cable lead and the boot put cable through the nut and tighten nut.
4. loosen nut hold the cable with pliers and pull it till the two sides of brake are in the right spot tighten nut.
5. cut cable leave about 2 inches remaining for adjustment purposes.
   place a ferrule on cable to avoid fraying. gas it with diagonal pliers to hold in place.

Tips & Warnings

• place lubricant on cables to make it slide easily.
• cut the cable last to make sure you have enough cable.
• leave about two inches so cable can be adjusted if needed.
