This is an old family remedy - it is fast, easy, safe and includes all natural ingredients. It works on diaper rash and heat rash for infants, children and adults.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Non-scented baby wipe or washcloth, cotton balls and canola oil (or any other vegetable oil)
  1. Step 1

Clean the area very gently with a non-scented baby wipe or washcloth soaked in luke warm water. If the rash is very aggravated, you can skip this step.

  2. Step 2

Saturate a couple of cotton balls with canola oil and apply generously on the rash area. It is very safe and would never cause any allergic reactions.

  3. Step 3

Repeat every hour for severe rashes or every time you change the baby. For new rashes you need to apply only a couple of times and the rash will be gone by the morning.

Tips & Warnings
  • Gently wipe the area and apply diaper ointment every time you change your baby, in order to prevent diaper rash. This is the fastest and safest remedy for diaper rash and worked on my son every time like a charm. Canola oil is my favorite, but sunflower or vegetable oil works too.
  • To reduce the frequency of the rashes on infants, avoid using scented baby wipes, scented diapers (or cheap diapers), baby powder or fabric softner. This remedy does not work on other types of rashes or itching other than baby rash, heat rash or a food-related rash (such as spicy food). Peanut oil should never be used for this purpose.
