This is a wonderful recipe for a traditional southern pecan pie. Make this pie for your next holiday or even Summer picnic! Your family and friends will love it! It is wonderful any time of the year.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup white/clear Karo syrup
  • 6 tbs. margarine (melted)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped (or whole) pecans
  • 1 pie shell
  1. Step 1

Gather all of the ingredients together, except for the pie shell. Using a fork, stir all ingredients together in large bowl. Make sure that everything is mixed well.

  2. Step 2

Pour the mixture into a pie shell. I find it easier to just use one that is already formed in a pie pan, but you can also make your own or buy a folded pie shell to place and form in your own pie pan. Just use whatever you feel the most comfortable with.

  3. Step 3

Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. The pie will come out beautiful and brown on the top and around the edges. All of the pecans should have floated to the top during cooking.

  4. Step 4

Allow the pie to cool on a rack. When ready, cut the pie and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the pie stored in the refrigerator.
  • Don't forget the whipped cream!
