Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- A recent Nokia device N Series or E-series.
- Internet Access on your phone
- Data Cable for phone to PC
- Know how on basic HTML coding for web design (skills with javascript, Css, Python would be an added benifit).
Step1
First you need to have a Web Site Designed.
Use Html to do this. You will however need to create a folder with the name of your custom web site and put all your html content inside it.
All the refrenced graphics, media, flash etc need to be inside this folder.
You may use CSS , JavaScripts or even Python Code to make your site truly dynamic.
Step2
Remember to name the first default page of your site as INDEX.HTML
This will be the root page or home page of your custom site.
Once all your content are ready and made its time to upload it to the web server.
Step3
Connect your Phone to the PC with the data cable.
Enter the phone memory or Memory Card depending on where you installed the Nokia mobile web server (as mentioned in my previous article).
Step4
You will have to then Navigate to the folders shown below :
Data -> WEBSERVERS -> HTDOCS
Step5
Paste your custom web site folder under the HTDOCS folder from the PC over here.
Your now good to go.
Step6
My Custom Web Page
Start up your web server like mentioned in the previous article and connect it to the internet.
Open your internet browser from the pc and give the url of your basic page followed by '/' and your custom folder name.
Eg : if your custom website folder was named "Cheif-Special" and your base url was http://john.mymobilesite.net
then the url to your custom website would be.
http://john.mymobilesite.net/Cheif-Special
Entering this would automatically load the Index.HTML inside the Cheif-Special folder.
