Step 1
Use floating windows to create a workspace more like those in other versions of Adobe programs, or to place some panels on other monitors. Select the panel you want to open, and then either Ctrl-click in Windows, or Command-click in Mac. Drag the panel from its current location. When you release the mouse, the panel will be in a floating window.
-
Step 2
When you close a panel or window in the application window, the other groups are resized to make use of the newly available space. When you close a floating window, the panels within it close, too. To close the panel, click on the “Close” button (the X) on the panel you want to close.
-
Step 3
The dividers between the panel groups have “resize handles.” You can resize a group in one direction at a time, either horizontally or vertically. When you drag a divider between panel groups, all groups within that divider are resized.
-
Step 4
Position the pointer of your mouse over the divider between the panel groups that you want to resize. The pointer changes shape depending on which direction the panel size can be changed. Hold down your mouse button, and drag the edge of the panel to resize.
-
Step 5
When you are finished arranging the frames and panels as you want them, go to Window, then Workspace and then Save Workspace. Enter a name for the workspace. Click "Save."
