One great function of Adobe Premiere Pro is that it provides a customizable workspace that the user can modify for their preferences. The main window of the program contains various panels called the workspace. The default workspace contains groups of panels as well as stand alone panels. You can move and group panels on your computer screen according to your preference and work style.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Customize a workspace by arranging the panels. Position the pointer of your mouse over the divider between the panels that you want to resize. The pointer changes shape depending on which way the panels can be dragged.

  2. Step 2

Hold down the mouse button, and drag to resize the panel groups. As you rearrange panels, the other panels resize automatically to fit the window.

  3. Step 3

Use floating windows to create a workspace more like those in other versions of Adobe programs, or to place some panels on other monitors. Select the panel you want to open, and then either Ctrl-click in Windows, or Command-click in Mac. Drag the panel from its current location. When you release the mouse, the panel will be in a floating window.

  4. Step 4

After arranging the frames and panels, go to Window, and then Workspace. Choose "Save Workspace." Enter a name for the workspace. Click "Save."

  5. Step 5

To delete a workspace, go to Window, then Workspace and then Delete Workspace. Choose the workspace to be deleted, and click on "Delete."
