Picking the correct project settings for your new Adobe Premiere Pro project establishes the parameters for each project. All project settings will apply to the entire work, and most of them cannot be changed after a project is created. Here is how to customize and save your settings.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First open a new project by going to File, then New and then Project. Select the preset that most closely matches your video footage or the needs of your capture card. This will vary according to your equipment and hardware.

  2. Step 2

In the Custom Settings tab at the top of the New Project dialog box, you can modify the General, Capture, Video Rendering, and Default Sequence settings to match the needs of your project. Navigate between these options by clicking on them in the left hand panel.

  3. Step 3

Save your custom settings as a preset that you can use for future projects by clicking on "Save Preset." A dialog box will open in which you can name your preset. Give it a description that you can refer to later.

  4. Step 4

Specify where to save the project by browsing for the correct location, and give it a name. Click "OK."
