As you become more advanced and comfortable with using Adobe Photoshop tools, palettes and workspaces, you may become more particular with how you organize your work flow. If you use the same settings for a tool often, you might want to save the settings so you can access it quickly and easily.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open the program and select the tool you want to customize from the toolbox.

  2. Step 2

In the options bar at the top of the work area, underneath the drop- down menus for File, Edit andImage, select the settings you want for the tool. For example if you select the Eraser tool, you can choose “Brush Size,” “Opacity” and “Flow.”

  3. Step 3

Next, click on the down arrow next to the "Tool Preset" button. It is on the left side of the options bar. This opens the Tool Presets pop-up palette.

  4. Step 4

Click on the arrow on the right side of that pop-up palette, and select “Create New Tool Preset.” Name your New Tool Preset to save it, and click "OK." The preset you saved will now appear in the Tool Presets palette at the top of the work area.
