Are you a homeowner with family members who suffer from allergies or asthma? If you are you may not be aware that the dust that is stirring up during your remodeling project can make symptoms worse for them. Here are five ways to minimize airborne triggers in your home.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
First, you want to seal the air-duct registers in the areas that is being used during these activates. This will generate a lot of dust, such as in the demolition stage.
Step2
Then cover the work area with protective sheeting and use barriers to keep the dust contained to the rooms that is undergoing remodeling.
Step3
Then continue to ventilate a space after paint or finishes have been applied, flooring finished or carpeting installed, or any other activity that produces airborne pollutants.
Step4
Then, you must provide exhaust ventilation. Like a fan blowing out of a window that is going to be away from the work area. This will help prevent particles from spreading to other parts of the home.
Step5
Clean up the work site each day to minimize dust tracking.
