Things You'll Need:
- Good attitude
- Good walking/exercise shoes
-
Step 1
Get into motion!Get moving! Whether it's walking or aerobics or bicycling there is no doubt that exercise lowers weight, blood pressure and helps you feel better about yourself.
-
Step 2
Too much around the middle!Maintain a good BMI (body mass index)- a number calculated from your weight and height. A BMI less than 28.9 is desirable. In fact-the more fat you carry especially around the middle the higher your risk of heart disease, diabetes etc.
-
Step 3
Drink lots of water!Don't forget the importance of water! Drink at least 8 glasses per day. Water flushes out impurities, helps you digest your food, and basically makes up a large part of the human body-so drink it!
-
Step 4
Eat your vegetables!Watch what you eat! Limit your intake of fats and sweets and focus more on vegetables and fruits. It will help you keep your weight down, lower your cholesterol and help you feel lots better.
-
Step 5
Seek help if you feel depressedDon't forget about your mental well being. With many children leaving home for college and marriage you may suffer from "empty nest syndrome". If you begin to feel depressed don't hesitate to seek professional help-stay mentally healthy.
