How to Easily set up Remote Support

Things You’ll Need:

• A Windows 2000, XP or Vista based PC with a broadband internet connection [DSL, Cable, Satellite]
• A broadband internet connection on the system used to access the remote PC

1. First you will need to create a free account with logmein. This account will allow for you to access your set up PC's from anywhere in the world at no cost whatsoever. To do this, visit www.logmein.com and click on the "create a new account" option below the log in boxes on the right hand side.
2. Once you have created your account, you can add your PC to your "My Computers" list so that you can access it from anywhere with a broadband internet connection. To do this, ensure you are logged in and click on the "Add Computer" link at the right hand side of the page.
3. Once you have clicked on "Add Computer", Logmein will prompt you to download the logmein installer. This will install the software nessesary to make your computer remotely accessible. Once it has finished downloading, run the installer and continue through the setup. When the installer asks for you to name your PC, give it a name you can easily identify that computer by, such as "Home Computer" or "Office Computer". It will also ask you for a computer access code. This is a password so that no one can access your PC but you.
4. Your computer is now accessible to you from anywhere in the world via a high speed internet connection. Simply visit www.logmein.com and log in to your account. From there, you can select the computer you wish to connect to. Once you have selected it, type in the Access code, or username and password. Once you are connected, click on "Remote Control" to start the remote session.
5. Familiarize yourself with this technology. If you decide to make the Remote session Full Screen, it will feel as if you are in front of the computer you are controlling. This can be an extremely useful tool and is all made possible by LogMeIn Inc.
