Step 1
Spend time browsing the store at 8902 E. 96th St. Get a sense for its inventory, which includes a good selection of artisan cheeses, meats and gourmet dry goods. The other half of the store is dedicated to cookware, stemware, serving dishes and cutlery.
-
Step 2
Grab some lunch at Frasier’s Soup Kitchen. The store offers soups, salads and sandwiches daily (except Sundays). You can also pick up a variety of dinners and desserts. Put them on a fancy platter at home, and no one will know you didn’t spend hours slaving in the kitchen.

Step 3
If you’re more the do-it-yourself type, sign up for one of the store’s cooking classes, which are often taught by local celebrity chefs. Check the store’s website for a current class schedule. Classes generally cost about $30 and meet on weekday evenings. “Cooking 101,” a six-week, hands-on course, is a good choice for beginners.

Step 4
Assemble a custom gift basket using Frasier’s many gourmet grocery items. If you’re in a hurry, the store also offers several standard baskets, such as “One Lump or Two?” and “Awesome Office.”
